Accompanying Persons’ Programme

A package of cultural excursions will be arranged for family members and partners accompanying delegates to AFRICA 2021. Accompanying persons are also welcome to attend the evening social events.

Programme details

Working with knowledgeable local ground agents, we will be putting together a three day package of tours for accompanying persons, combining cultural visits, stunning landscapes, animal sanctuaries and a trip on the lake, with lunches together each day. Highlights to be seen in and around Kampala include: the Kasubi Royal Tombs, Kampala Central Mosque, the National Museum, the Independence Monument, Kabaka’s Palace, the Ndere Cultural Centre, St Mary’s Cathedral, and the Bahai House of Worship. Highlights in and around Entebbe include: the Botanical Gardens, the Reptile Village, the Entebbe Wildlife Conservation Centre, a visitor centre on the Equator, and, the sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees on Ngamba Island, Lake Victoria.


Conference Programme

AFRICA 2021 will take place at the Speke Resort Munyonyo beside Lake Victoria, Uganda. The fourth in the AFRICA regional conference series, previous events have been held in Ethiopia, Morocco and Namibia. 


Monday 12 July

Pre-conference workshops and Chairpersons' & Speakers' meetings and reception.


Tuesday 13 July

Opening ceremony, technical sessions begin and evening Welcome reception.


Wednesday 14 July

Technical sessions continue and extended opening of the Exhibition.


Thursday 15 July

Technical sessions continue, closing ceremony and Farewell Dinner.
