The Venue

The AFRICA 2021 Conference sessions and Technical Exhibition will take place at the Speke Resort Munyonyo, Lake Victoria, Uganda.

Conference Themes

Themes will include civil engineering and dam construction, safety and cyber security, social and environmental concerns, challenging schemes, multipurpose development, rural electrification, and training and capacity building, among many others.

Technical Exhibition

The leading consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, professional association and other hydro specialists will showcase their activities and services during the three-day exhibition which will run concurrently with the conference.

Social Programme

A full social and cultural programme is being arranged to give attendees the opportunity to relax in an informal atmosphere with friends from the international hydro community.

Study Tours

Two post-Conference study tours are planned, to give participants an opportunity to visit Uganda’s most important dams and hydropower plants; itineraries are still to be confirmed, and timings checked, so the information below is provisional.

Conference Programme

AFRICA 2021 will take place at the Speke Resort Munyonyo beside Lake Victoria, Uganda. The fourth in the AFRICA regional conference series, previous events have been held in Ethiopia, Morocco and Namibia.

Opening ceremony, technical sessions begin and evening Welcome reception.

Wednesday 14 July

Technical sessions continue and extended opening of the Exhibition.

Thursday 15 July

Technical sessions continue, closing ceremony and Farewell Dinner.
