An economic evaluation of the Alden fish-friendly turbine

Technical aspects of the Alden turbine, designed to allow the safe passage of downstream migrating fish through turbines, and eliminating the need for expensive screens, have been well documented since the late 1990s. A recent engineering study conducted with EPRI, and described here, focuses on improving the economics of this technology by developing a commercially competitive design.
