Grid stability studies for the Laúca scheme, Angola

Laúca dam is under construction on the Cuanza river and, when commissioned, it will almost double the capacity of the north Angolan grid system. Several challenges were encountered during the basic design phase, these related to the generating circuits, geological and topographical aspects, and grid stability.
