Malaysian dam safety management guidelines: Capacity building for resilient dams and safe communities

The authors describe the development and scope of Malaysia’s first national guidelines for dam safety management, and discuss needs for government agencies to establish a framework to encourage wider implementation of the guidelines, and the capacity building which is required to achieve this.
