Nemiscau-1 dam: the first asphalt core dam in North America

The Nemiscau-1 dam in Canada was a full-scale trial project by Hydro Québec, successfully constructed during the summer of 2008, as part of the Eastmain 1A development. This article gives an overview of the design and the construction process, and the experience gained through this trial project.
