Priorities and plans for Ukraine’s hydropower and pumped storage

The Ukraine currently has an impressive programme of hydro and pumped-storage construction and upgrading under way, including completion of the Dniester project, which will be the largest pumped-storage plant in Europe when complete. Other pumped-storage plants and convention hydro schemes are planned, to meet government goals for the national system, maximize the use of clean energy, and to facilitate the integration of the Ukrainian power system and the European ENTSO-E system.
