Refurbishment of the Lac Noir pumped-storage scheme

The first pumped-storage scheme to be built in France is to undergo a major renovation, having been out of service for seven years as a result of flood damage. Most of the existing civil structures of the water intake will be retained, but the original four turbines are to be replaced by a single unit, and a new powerplant is to be constructed.
