The design and construction of extra high CFRDs

The author reviews experience which is building up around the world with the design and construction of very high CFRDs, and discusses current trends, with special reference to schemes in Latin America. Given the technical advantages of CFRDs, including their inherent high level of safety, the author predicts that the world’s first 300 m-high CFRD might not be far into the future.
