Development of new solutions for fish passage and exclusion

One very important responsibility when designing and operating a hydropower plant, is the protection of fish populations and other aquatic life. As each site is unique, innovation is required to find the most appropriate solution to fish passage issues. In this paper, two downstream fish passage solutions are closely examined, as well as two projects where exclusion methods were required to prevent fish from being harmed by, or trapped in, the powerplants.
