Vietnam’s state power supplier, EVN, through the Vietnam Electricity Power Projects Management Board No. 1, invites sealed bids from eligible bidders by 22 April for the procurement of electro-mechanical equipment for the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension Project on the river Da in the northern province of Hoa Binh. The project will entail the expansion of the 1920 MW Hoa Binh plant to 2400 MW, through the addition of two units totalling 480 MW in a new powerhouse to be built downstream of the existing dam. The new units are designed to increase annual production by about 488 GWh.
The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) invites pre-qualification applications by 18 March from qualified consultants to assist with the construction of four plants totalling 67 MW. All four schemes, namely Devi Kothi (16 MW), Hail (18 MW), Sai Kothi I (15 MW) and Sai Kothi II (18 MW), are designed as run-of-river projects in the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. In general, except for Sai Kothi II, which will take water directly from the tailrace of Sai Kothi I, and hence has no weir structure, the plants will each comprise a concrete weir, of either the drop or gated type, and a waterway structure with a desilting basin, headrace tunnel, surge shaft or surface forebay, pressure shaft or penstock, and tailrace.
Ruzizi III Energy invites pre-qualification bids by 15 February for the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the Ruzizi III regional hydropower project on the border of DRC and Rwanda. The RIII-EPC contract, which has an estimated total value of €450 million (excluding VAT), will include the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of a 45 m-high embankment dam.
