Flexible hydropower providing value to renewable energy integration

This article is based on a White Paper by IEA Hydro, focusing on the role of hydropower and the need for flexibility in future electricity systems, aiming to provide a high-level overview of key issues with the intent of identifying priority areas for further detailed reviews and analyses. This is the first in a series planned by the IEA Hydropower Technology Collaboration Programme (IEA Hydro), to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, increaase awareness of the important role of hydropower in contemporary electricity system integration, and explore issues and solutions to realize fully the value of its contributions to electricity systems.
