Inspection of the headrace at Villarino, Spain, with unmanned aerial and manned terrestrial vehicles

An autonmous flying robot has been developed to inspect the inside of tunnels and ensure their safety for maintenance personnel. Special features enable them to capture images in adverse conditions, with low visibility caused by dense and humid fog. The devices have been successfuly use for inspection of the interior of Iberdrola’s Villarino headrace tunnel in Spain.
