Bids sought to renovate spherical valves at Revin pumped-storage plant

Électricité de France (EDF) invites bids by 26 October for the renovation and maintenance of the spherical shut-off valves of the Revin pumped-storage hydropower plant in the department of Ardennes in northern France.

The plant, which comprises four 200 MW reversible pump turbine units, was commissioned in 1974 and is the third largest pumped-storage plant in France. Each unit is equipped with a spherical valve, which acts as a safety stop. The spherical valves are installed in a separate cavern, accessible through a gallery parallel to the gallery serving the four units.

The contract will require most notably: studies and appraisals; manufacturing; transport; dismantling; cleaning; surface preparations; new coatings; and, resurfacing, installation and testing of materials, according to a tender notice published on the EU’s procurement website TED.

The contract is expected to begin in July 2019 and to run to the end of 2023. Further information concerning the contract 2018/S 184-417426 can be obtained at: https://pha.edf.com. Tenders or requests to participate must be submitted electronically via: https://pha.edf.com.
