Hydropower & Dams launches student prize at HYDRO 2019

The Sultan Alam Memorial prize was announced at HYDRO 2018, details of which were given by Prof. Schleiss in a presentation at the conference. Papers are invited for submission by students or recent graduates, and the prize will be awarded at HYDRO 2019.

The International Journal on Hydropower & Dams is pleased to invite papers on the theme of sedimentation from students or recent graduates, in honour of the work of the eminent sedimentation expert, Sultan Alam. Prizes will be awarded, including presentation of the winning paper, as well as waived conference fees for the top three selected entrants.

Contract award for Saltinho project in Guinea-Bissau

A joint venture of Portugal's COBA Consultores de Engenharia e Ambiete and the Portuguese subsidiary of France's Artelia Eau & Environnement has been awarded a contract to carry out feasibility and detailed engineering studies for the construction and operation of a run-of-river hydropower plant in Guinea-Bissau.

Call for Papers extended for Burkina Faso dam conference

BUCOD, the Burkina Faso National Committee on Dams has extended the Call for Papers for its 1st National Annual Conference on Dams. The deadline is now 30 June.
