New unit planned at Romanche-Gavet

EDF invites expressions of interest by 5 May for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a 22 MW unit at the 97 MW Romanche-Gavet hydropower plant in France's southeastern department of Isère.

The plant’s third unit will comprise a Francis turbine, associated generator, speed and pressure regulators as well as a spherical/ball valve, according to the tender notice published on the EU’s procurement website on 6 April.  The run-of-river project, which was inaugurated in October 2020, replaced a cascade of six plants and five dams that were built on the Romanche river at the start of the last century, with a dam at Livet-et-Gavet, and an underground powerhouse. Access to the procurement documents is restricted. The tender will be carried out by e-tender via EDF’s Electronic Purchasing Portal. Tenders or requests to participate must be submitted electronically via: https://pha.edf.com.
