RFPs for floating solar services in Uganda

Näringslivets Internationella Råd (NIR), the International Council of Swedish Industry, on behalf of Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd (UEGCL), Uganda’s state-owned power generation company, invites Request for Proposals (RfPs) by 6 August for a lead educational consultant for a capacity development programme in the context of the ‘Floating Solar Project for Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd’ project under the Sustainability Impact Accelerator programme.

The objective of the assignment is to provide a capacity development programme for UEGCL to strengthen its capacity to build a floating solar park on an existing dam reservoir and increase sustainable power generation. The capacity development programme is part of a broader bilateral cooperation defined under a Memorandum of Understanding between the Swedish Embassy in Kampala and the Ugandan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development to support reform and the sustainable development Uganda’s energy sector.

The maximum value of the contract is SEK 1 500 000, excluding VAT, and the contract is expected to take approximately eight months. The exact duration will be determined in agreement with NIR based on the timeline proposed by the tenderer awarded the contract. To request the tender documents, please contact NIR. Refurbishment works at Gitaru, Kenya

Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) invites bids by 13 July for the refurbishment of the hydraulic control system of the intake and spillway gates at the Gitaru hydropower plant on the Tana river in Kenya's Eastern province.

Consultation for the Hvammur hydro plant

Landsvirkjun (LV), Iceland’s state power producer, invites interested parties with relevant experience to participate in a Preliminary Market Consultation process (PMC) for the development of the Hvammur hydropower plant, to assess whether the project is feasible from a technical, financial, environmental and operational point of view. LV is currently re-exploring the feasibility of developing the plant, which was initially designed between 2007 and 2011. The design was updated 2015-2017 and has been on the drawing board since then.
