The scope of work will cover the design, engineering, manufacture, quality assurance, quality control, shop assembly, testing, packaging and delivery to site including insurance, unloading, site storage and preservation, erection/installation, testing, supervision, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance and acceptance testing and handing over to client of the electro-mechanical equipment including two Francis turbines and vertical shaft synchronous generators as well as auxiliaries. Detailed scope of contract is defined in the technical specifications. The entire works of this package is proposed to be completed within a time span of 36 months.
The proposed run-of-river project, situated on the Beas River near Sanotu village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, is designed to operate as a baseload station with a small live storage for peak power production during the dry season. The plant is to be equipped with two 33 MW units, which are designed to generate average annual output of 304 GWh in a 90 per cent dependable year and on the basis of 95 per cent availability. Frequent start/stop requirement of all equipment for daily operation needs to be taken into consideration while designing the equipment.
