3D hydrodynamic computational modelling for hydroelectric projects

The use of computational tools for solving hydraulic engineering problems is becoming more common. Of the existing numerical models, 3D modelling requires more computing power and greater care. However, it enables the modelling of complex and unconventional problems, which previously relied on physical modelling. This paper presents the authors’ experience of using Flow 3D© software for modelling and simulating flows in hydraulic structures related to hydroelectric plants.
