Advanced analytics for the optimal management of hydro plants

The hydropower sector is competing today for an increasing share of renewables, in a changing energy market. With the goal of increasing hydropower competitiveness, plant owners need to ensure the reliability of their assets, and make operation and maintenance predictable and cost-effective. The need for monitoring, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and prescriptive maintenance of hydro plants can be addressed using new concepts. In this article we describe a web-based platform (h-EM), developed by i-EM, for the management of a portfolio of hydro plants.
