Evaluation of the rehabilitation techniques at Terminal dam, New York

During the 1980s, significant seepage occurred at the Terminal dam, a 32 m-high earth embankment structure. Several conventional rehabilitation projects failed, but in 1993, a series of options were developed to address seepage and seismic stability concerns. This paper reviews the performance of the dam, and the effectiveness, 20 years on, of the final method adopted.
