Hydropower prospects in Argentina

Argentina has initiated steps to bring its hydropower industry back to the level of activity of the last decade of the 20th century. As part of a new strategy, the Government is promoting a rebalancing of the energy matrix, replacing thermal generation sources with an increase in both nuclear and renewable energy. This plan implies a greater share for hydroelectricity, which represents a new challenge.
