Igamba II mini hydro scheme helps regional development in Tanzania

An 8 MW hydro plant is to play an important role in a US-funded scheme to enhance energy, water and transport facilities in northwestern Tanzania. The plant, which is the second stage of a cascade development, will ensure reliable power supplies for villages around the town of Kigoma, and will also displace the use of expensive diesel fuel.
