The rehabilitation of the Grand Falls dam is an example of a partnership between the owner, the engineer and the contractor which allowed for the development of safe, innovative, environmentally friendly, cost effective and constructible designs that were tailored to the site conditions and the contractor’s means and methods. This paper reports the approach used that resulted in completion of the project for less than the original design budget and a season ahead of schedule.
