Sustainable hydro development in China: current plans and activities

China is at an important strategic stage in its socio-economic development, which has triggered an increasing demand for energy. Increasing attention has been paid to sustainable energy supply, and the assurance of sustainable economic and social development in the future. This article looks at China’s current plans and progress in hydro development, including at the Three Gorges Project, and reviews the policy of CTGPC in relation to current and future sustainable hydro development.
