Upgrade of the Spytihnev small hydro station

An upgrade of the Spytihnev hydro plant was carried out between July 2008 and September 2009. This project was designed to increase the total installed capacity from 1.92 to 4 MW. The increase in installed capacity was achieved principally by the replacement of the original adjustable-blade turbines, which had been in operation for nearly 60 years, and also by a 0.5 m increase in the differential head.
