Ventilation and cooling of high speed hydro generators

Various cooling concepts are described for high-speed hydro generators with various mechanical designs. The influence of speed, diameter and axial length of the machine on the chosen cooling scheme is discussed. Attention is drawn to new perspectives based on CFD simulations to develop better cooling performance and improvements of conventional airflow-network computations are shown. Finally, different airflow and temperature measurement methods are presented.
