FAQs

You can find answers to some frequently asked questions below. But if you still have questions please contact us.

When will registration open?

Registration usually begins 3 months before the conference. If you have subscribed to receiving updates about our events, you will receive an email letting you know that registration is open. We will also publish notices on our website and in our Journal.

Do I need to register before the event?

It is possible to register on site, however, the process will be quicker for you if you register in advance. You can also take advantage of discounted early booking rates by booking online before the event.

I’ve booked an exhibition stand. Do I still need to register?

Yes you do. Anyone who will be attending the event needs to register through our online registration system. Exhibitors, speakers and chairpersons will be sent unique codes to enable them to access the associated rates.

What is included with my stand booking?

For each 6 m2 stand you have booked, the following is included:

  • One free delegate place, and two delegates at a discounted rate
  • Universal shell scheme
  • Fascia including stand number and company name
  • One table and two chairs
  • Carpet (dependent on venue)
  • Electricity supply (multiple sockets)
  • Spotlight(s)

When will I get my badge?

Your badge and conference documents will be available from the registration desk from Monday 13th March. You will not be able to enter the conference or exhibition until you have collected your badge, and you must wear it at all times when in the exhibition or conference sessions.

Can I just visit the exhibition?

No. The events are organized in a way that the exhibition and technical sessions complement each other. Exhibitors can attend the technical sessions and identify potential clients or future business opportunities and delegates have the opportunity to visit the exhibition stands in between the technical sessions during the refreshment breaks. In our experience, this leads to more genuine business relationships being developed.

Can I attend for one day only?

We do not offer one-day passes to the event. In special circumstances, and at our discretion, we may be able to offer two-day passes. Please contact us to discuss this.

How can I co-sponsor the event?

Please visit our Sponsorship page to view available conference sponsorship packages. Alternatively, contact our Sales team to discuss opportunities best suited to your company’s requirements.

What assistance can you provide to attendees from developing countries?

The AMI Hydropower Foundation provides funding to conference participants from developing countries. If you would like to apply, please see details here of what to include in your application. If you would like to invite guests from developing countries to visit your company at an event, please contact us, as the AMI Foundation may be able to offer assistance with their fees. About ASIA 2023

The Aqua~Media International team, with the support of the Malaysian Government, the Malaysian Committee on Large Dams, and the State Power utilities, welcomes the global water and energy community to the vibrant, multi-cultural city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Peninsular Malaysia, as well as Sarawak and Sabah, have wide experience of large and small hydropower development and multipurpose dams. Study tours will visit to some of the large cascade developments in Peninsular Malaysia. Hydropower supplies about 20 per cent of Malaysia’s approximately 34 GW of installed capacity, with hydro supplying more than 20 TWh/year. The Government is strongly committed to increasing the share of renewable energy in the country’s generation mix, with a target to add 4 GW of renewables across the thirteen states by 2030.

The country has about 104 large dams. The most recently completed in Peninsular Malaysia are the Puah dam for the 250 MW Hulu Terengganu powerplant (completed in 2015), and Susu RCC dam for the 372 MW Ulu Jelai hydro plant (commissioned in 2016) The latest large scheme going ahead in Sarawak is the 188 m-high Baleh CFRD, following the completion of Bakun and Murum. Some of the most important schemes in Peninsular Malaysia will be visited during post-Conference study tours.
