Bids invited for modernization of Čierny Váh pumped-storage plant

Slovenske Elektrarne (SE), the Republic of Slovakia's dominant power producer, invites bids by 19 July for the modernization of the mechanical part of the turbine TG5 of the 735 MW Čierny Váh pumped-storage plant on the river Cierny Vah in Zilina. Čierny Váh, which was commissioned in 1981-82, is Slovakia’s largest pumped-storage plant and also its single largest hydropower plant.

The scope of contract, which has an estimated value excluding VAT of €11.738 million, includes the design, production and supply of a new impeller and modification of pre-distribution and distribution vanes; design and supply of new hydraulic control of the distribution vanes; repair of other mechanical parts of the turbine.
