Bids invited to build Tugel Sai water storage facility in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Project Management Unit of the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic invites sealed bids by 10 March for the construction of the Tugel Sai water storage facility.

The project for Irrigated Agriculture Development in Issyk-Kul and Naryn Regions Project is being financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Saudi Fund for Development. The contracted works will include the construction of a dam, with a maximum height of 31.6m and a crest length of 192m, and the reservoir basin, as well as a 10kV power line and an 0.4 kV on-site power line. The dam is to be located 7.5 km from the existing intake structure on the Tugel Sai river and is be made of local soil material with a core of loam. Bed drainage at the base of the dam is envisaged as well as a spillway of monolithic reinforced concrete and discharge channel (187m) and an operational water outlet of steel pipes d=1600mm in two lines (255m) and gate chambers with hydromechanical equipment. The usable reservoir capacity is 2.85 million m3.

Bidding will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding limited to IsDB countries (ICB/MC) procedures, as specified in the “IsDB’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and related services under Islamic Development Bank Project Financing, April 2019 edition and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines.
