Bids sought for renovation of Sewa III in Jammu and Kashmir, India

Bids are invited by 23 November for the modernization of the 9 MW scheme in Jammu & Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC), the state power utility serving the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, invites bids by 23 November from original equipment manufacturers for the renovation and modernization of the 9 MW Sewa III plant, inclusive of the design, engineering, reverse engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of various equipment and material, including civil works and other allied works.

The work, with an estimated value of INR 158.3 million (US$ 2.2 million) is to be completed within 18 months from contract signing, according to the tender published on 23 October. The Sewa III plant on the river Ravi, downstream of the NHPC-owned 120 MW Sewa II plant, was commissioned in 2002 but has been out of operation since a breach in its canal caused by floods in 2013.
