Infunde Development, acting on behalf of InfraCo Asia Development (IAD), seeks expression of interest (EOI) by 29 April from qualified consultants to perform an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for a medium-sized hydropower plant in Indonesia. Infunde Development is currently planning to co-develop the project, together with a local partner, according to a tender notice published on its website. It had previously invited requests for EOIs for an AMDAL study and for geotechnical investigations and topographic surveys of the site.

Infunde Development lists one hydropower project in its project portfolio in Indonesia.

The 36 MW Endikat hydropower project would supply clean and low-cost electricity to the west coast of the island of Sumatra, according to its website, and would help diversify the South Sumatran grid, which is dominated by fossil-fuel powered plants. The project is planned to be developed as a run-of-river cascade on the river Endikat, which extends down the Dempo Mountain in the Pagar Alam Regency, in the Province of South Sumatra. It is expected to comprise two plants with a preliminary capacity of 19 MW upstream and 17 MW downstream, with an estimated total capex of US$ 92 million.

Infunde acts on behalf of IAD as its exclusive developer in various Southeast Asian markets, including Indonesia, to originate and develop infrastructure project opportunities. IAD is a donor-funded infrastructure fund, headquartered in Singapore and a member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group.

For more information on the project background and scope of work, please send an email expressing an interest in responding to the Request for Proposal No. 63 to the email address below. Interested consultants will be contacted on receipt of the EOI. Consultants are expected to attach project references for hydropower projects including credentials for conducting such work.

The Request for Proposal (RfP) and Terms of Reference will be sent to shortlisted consultants after review of their technical qualification and relevant work experience.
