Independent consulting services sought for projects in Pakistan

InfraCo Asia, a member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) in partnership with Karachi-based renewable energy investor Markhor Energy invites expressions of interest by 9 July for independent consultant services for the 35 MW Bankhwar and 80 MW Gabral Utror hydropower projects in Pakistan's northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

The projects are among a portfolio of hydropower projects being jointly developed by InfraCo Asia and Markhor Energy in KPK. Equicap Asia, the outsourced developer for InfraCo Asia in south Asia, originates and develops infrastructure projects in south Asia on behalf of InfraCo Asia.

Technical and financial proposals from technically sound, qualified and experienced consulting companies (or a consortium of consulting companies) are solicited to act as an Independent consultant as required under the NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority of Pakistan) Notification SRO (I)/2017 dated 17 May 2017 (the NEPRA Guidelines 2017) regarding selection of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors by independent power producers. Registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is a must. RFP will only be issued to a company having valid PEC registration. Interested consultants will be contacted upon receipt of the Expression of Interest. Interested consultants are expected to also attach the project references for similar projects, along with detailed technical and commercial proposal.
