Tender call for reconstruction of micro plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, a Germany-based independent non-profit and non-governmental aid agency, has launched an international call for tenders for the reconstruction of a micro hydropower plant in the territory of Mahagi-Ndrele in the northeastern province of Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Bids are invited by 9 July for the reconstruction of the SUU micro hydropower plant.

The contracted works have been divided up into three lots, according to a tender notice published on the EU’s procurement website TED on 14 June. Bids can be submitted for one or all three lots. Lot 1 covers the civil engineering part and will entail the construction of a basin, the headrace channel and overflow, the loading basin and overflow, construction of the penstock support, rehabilitation of the powerhouse and of the turbined water tailrace, as well as pouring of the concrete for the poles of the medium voltage and low voltage lines. Lot 2 covers the energy production component and will entail the installation of valves, the penstock as well as electromechanical equipment (turbine and alternator). Lot 3 covers the installation of medium voltage and low voltage poles as well as MV and LV connections to the electrical network.
