E-M supply sought for 2560 MW Sukhpura pumped-storage project in India

India-based independent power producer Greenko Group, the country's leading renewable energy developer, has launched international competitive bidding for the supply and installation of electro-mechanical equipment for the 2560 MW Sukhpura off stream, closed loop pumped-storage project in Chittorgarh district in the northwestern state of Rajasthan.

India-based independent power producer Greenko Group, the country’s leading renewable energy developer, has launched international competitive bidding for the supply and installation of electro-mechanical equipment for the 2560 MW Sukhpura off stream, closed loop pumped-storage project in Chittorgarh district in the northwestern state of Rajasthan. Pre-qualification and technical bids are sought by 14 October from eligible EPC contractors for the design, engineering, model testing, procurement, manufacturing, packing, insurance, supply, transportation to site, storage, installation, erection, testing and commissioning, trial operation, and performance guarantee tests of the equipment from the main inlet valve to the LV terminal connection of generator/motor transformer on an EPC Basis on a firm and fixed price up to the completion of the project.

The scope of supply includes seven 320 MW fixed speed pump-turbines and two 160 MW fixed speed pump-turbines as well as associated equipment and auxiliaries, generators – motor and its auxiliaries, governors, static excitation systems, Static Frequency Converter (SFC) common for all units, starting bus system connecting to all fixed speed machines with isolators and VCB’s suitable for back to back and SFC starting mode (SFC Starting switchgears with SPBD and associated accessories), Phase Reversal Disconnector Switch (PRDS), Isolated Phase Bus Duct, associated LV switchgear for the auxiliaries, complete plant SCADA, instrumentation, controls and protection, special interconnecting cables and accessories as well as the supply of critical and mandatory spares.

Complete erection, testing and commissioning of supplied scope shall be performed by the bidder including the entire site infrastructure such as storage, accommodation, tools and tackles for erection and handling, mobile/tower/gantry cranes for erection of embedded parts and components.  The first unit is expected to be commissioned by 1 October 2024 and the last on 30 May 2025.
