Bosnia’s EPBiH seeks renovation plan for Salakovac hydropower plant

JP Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine (EPBiH), one of the two state power utilities serving the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, invites bids by 17 February to undertake a study and project design for the rehabilitation of the 210 MW Salakovac hydropower plant.

The Salakovac hydropower dam, located on the river Neretva, about 15 km upstream of the city of Mostar, is one of the Balkan state’s biggest hydropower plants. Commissioned in 1982, the hydropower plant, which is equipped with three 69.5 MW Kaplan units, generates average annual output of 360 GWh under a net head of 45 m. It is located adjacent to the Salakovac dam, a 70 m-high concrete gravity dam.

Bid documents for tender 1409-1-2-196-3-218/25 can be downloaded from the national procurement portal e-Nabavke at https://www.ejn.gov.ba. Bids are to be submitted via the same portal.

Spain allocates €90 million to support new pumped-storage capacity
