A new approach to project optimization

Time and resources can be saved during the optimization stage of a hydro project by applying the so-called ‘optimum continuous’ methodology and software, developed recently in Ecuador and described here. Two Ecuadorian case studies using such a method are presented in this paper, with results demonstrating increased financial returns.
