Between September 2008 and May 2009, Sogreah Consultants (France) in association with Alb-Met (Albania), carried out a consulting study for KESH, the Albanian Power Corporation to assess the hydropower potential of three major Albanian river systems: Vjosa, Black Drin and Seman. This paper presents the methodology applied, which was aimed at determining an optimal hydropower cascade development for each river, from the technical, environmental, social and economic points of view.
