Completion of the RCC placement at Yeywa dam, Myanmar

When complete, Yeywa will be the largest dam in Myanmar. It is a straight roller compacted concrete gravity dam, and is 134 m high, with a volume of 2.859 x 106 m3, of which 2.472 x 106 m3 is RCC. It has the third largest volume of RCC yet placed in a dam and it is the RCC dam with the ninth fastest average rate of placement. On 15 December 2008, the last RCC was placed in the dam body some eight and a half months earlier than the originally proposed programme.
