Financing dams for water supply in Bulgaria

A major investment is currently being made in completing some dams in Bulgaria on which construction had begun in the 1990s, and where work was stopped at the time of economic reorganization in the country. Some new dams are now also planned. This paper describes the status of some of these schemes, the work which is now planned for implementation by 2012, and the funding, including assistance from the EU and the World Bank.
