Komarnica multipurpose storage scheme moves ahead in Montenegro

Following technical studies and economic appraisals spanning several decades, the development of the major Komarnica arch dam and hydropower plant, on the river of the same name, is now moving ahead, with European Union support. A contract has recently been awarded for the preliminary design of the 172 MW project, which will incorporate a 171 m-high concrete arch dam.
