Oubetsu dam: an example of the innovative CSG technology

Japan’s development of the CSG (cement sand gravel) trapezoidal dam technology, and the inherent advantages of this dam type, are discussed in the paper on p58. In this article, one of the first applications of this technology on a full-scale dam is described, including design characteristics and the construction process, which achieved a number of economies. Toubetsu dam will be completed later this year.
