Refurbishment of the instrumentation at Atatürk and Karakaya

After 17 and 22 years of operation respectively, the two largest hydroelectric plants in Turkey, Atatürk and Karakaya, both on the Euphrates river, are undergoing a major refurbishment of the instrumentation, automation and process control equipment. This article describes the work being carried out, and the benefits for both installations.
