The Alqueva II and Salamonde II upgrade projects in Portugal

Two new upgrade projects being carried out by EDP are described: Alqueva II, in the Guadiana river (southeast of Portugal), which will double the initial installed capacity from 256 to 512 MW, and Salamonde II, in Cávado river (North of Portugal), which will increase capacity from 42 to 251 MW.
