Unique dam-specific ASR swelling curve and the effect of dam cooling

This second paper focusing on the occurrence of ASR at two dams in the Swiss central eastern Alps follows one published in Issue 4, 2025 on ASR strain rate distribution. Here the authors analyse the variation in ASR swelling over a period of years, revealing the distribution of incremental ASR strain rates in the dam body. The research has shown that the concrete temperature has a major influence on the local magnitude of ASR swelling.
