DRC seeks contractor to extend Lungudi hydroelectric plant

Bid are invited by 17 July to increase the capacity of the Lungudi hydro plant by 2.5 MW.

The Project Coordination and Management Unit (UCM) of the Ministry of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on behalf of the state power utility Electricité Du Congo (EDC), invites sealed bids by 17 July for the extension of the Lungudi hydropower plant in Tshikapa, in the southwestern province of Kasai.

The Lungudi 2 project is be financed by the African Development Bank group under the framework of the “Projet d’Appui à la Gouvernance et à d’Amélioration du Secteur Electrique en RDC (PAGASE) (Governance Improvement and Access to Electricity Sector Project).  According to previous studies, the project will involve the expansion of the existing 1.5 MW plant, comprising two 750 kW units, to 4 MW.

A complete set of tender documents can be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written request to the below-mentioned address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US $ 1000 to the account of MIN FIN VIC PAASE VENTE DAO at the Banque Commerciale du Congo; A/c no: 00011-00101 -00001365574 -04 / USD Swift code: BCDCCDKIXXX. Offers, accompanied by a guarantee of US$ 250,000, must be submitted to UCM’s offices by 15.00 hrs local time on 17 July.
