Natel Energy appoints Yves Rannou Executive Chairperson; Steve Wright joins Board of Directors

Natel Energy, a technology and engineering company specializing in FishSafe™ hydro turbine design, has appointed Yves Rannou as Executive Chairperson and named Steve Wright to its Board of Directors. The company said the appointments are intended to support work related to grid modernisation and regulatory requirements in the US and the European Union.

The appointment of Rannou (pictured right) follows his previous service as a board member for Natel from 2021 to 2023. He brings over 25 years of experience in energy innovation and heavy industry, having served as President and CEO of GE Renewable Energy’s Hydro division and most recently as Executive Vice President at SUEZ. In his new role, Rannou will guide Natel’s strategic direction, supporting commercial partnerships and capital growth.

Wright (pictured left) served as Administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration for 12 years and subsequently as General Manager of Chelan Public Utility District.  His experience in hydropower generation, electricity marketing, grid operations and fisheries protection will be vital as Natel supports U.S. energy security with FishSafe™-produced flexible power generation, the company stated.

Minesto signs MoU with Haf-Afl to develop tidal energy in Iceland

Minesto, the Sweden-based marine energy technology developer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Icelandic ocean energy site developer Haf-Afl to collaborate on tidal energy project development in the Nordic island state.

India’s NHPC tenders main dam works for 1856 MW Sawalkot project

India's state power producer NHPC has launched a tender for a qualified contractor for the construction of the main dam of the 1856 MW Sawalkot hydropower project in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, as well as cofferdams, access tunnels and roads, and associated hydromechanical works. Online electronic bids are invited from eligible bidders for the contracted works by 20 March on a Domestic Competitive Bidding basis in a Single-Stage, Two-Part bidding procedure with e-Reverse Auction.
