E-M equipment sought for Stegenwald in Austria

Verbund seeks to engage a contractor for the installation of electro-mechanical equipment for the 14.5 MW Stegenwald hydropower plant in Werfen in the western Austrian state of Salzburg.

Prequalification bids are sought by 19 August for the run-of-river project, which is to be jointly developed, owned and operated by Austria’s leading power producer in partnership with Salzburg AG, an energy and infrastructure service provider in the state of Salzburg and neighbouring Upper Austria. The planned project should cost around €90 million and when completed is designed to generate average annual production of 72 GWh, equivalent to the annual electricity supply needs of 20 000 households. The contracted works are expected to start in February 2023 and be completed by July 2025.
